Today’s organizations desperately need people who stand ready to take on new challenges and learn new skills, who approach situations with a focus on learning, and who will be ready to develop themselves in a fast-changing, dynamic, and diverse workplace – in other words people who embody the growth mindset. By the same token, organizations facing massive disruptive forces are recognizing the need to shift from cultures that reward and promote “know it all’s,” to ones that value and nurture “learn it all’s.” But, as much as we might recognize the importance of mindsets for organizational outcomes that matter, as yet there is little empirical research to guide further investigation and organizational practice. This conference brings together leading academic scholars who study mindsets and companies trying to instil a growth mindset in their leaders and corporate cultures. We aim to survey the state of current thinking and spark learning partnerships for future research and case study development. |
