Ayham Kamel

Ayham Kamel leads coverage of regional geopolitics, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Iraq, and the Levant area (Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon). Mr. Kamel’s work focuses on the US role in the Middle East, economic reforms and liberalization, Iran-Saudi Arabia relations, energy policy, the Islamic State, and risks of financial instability in the region. In the Middle East, he provided consulting advice to key executives of regional corporates on establishing strategic partnerships and restructuring of decision-making processes. He has also worked on geo-strategic issues, foreign aid, democratization, and business operations in emerging markets for the US Senate, the National Democratic Institute, and the Center for International Private Enterprise. 
Mr. Kamel is a regular participant in expert foreign policy discussions in the US and Europe on Middle East and global power structures. In 2016, Mr. Kamel officially testified before the British House of Lords on transformation of power in the Middle East and North Africa. Mr. Kamel appears regularly on CNBC, BBC, Al Jazeera, and Bloomberg to discuss geopolitics in the Middle East, changes in the investment environment, and leadership transitions. He holds an MA in Foreign Service from Georgetown University which he earned as a Fulbright scholar. He also holds BS degrees in Business Administration and International Relations from the Lebanese American University. He is fluent in Arabic.
