The Africa Club at London Business School is proud to present its 2015 Africa Business Summit, scheduled for Saturday April 25th, 2015.

Now in its 14th year, the Africa Business Summit is firmly established as a leading forum in Europe for engaged discussion on doing business in Africa. Each year it brings together over 300 delegates with an active interest in Africa, providing an excellent opportunity to network with like-minded professionals, including alumni and students of London Business School.

The 2015 Summit, titled “Leading the Way: Growth Strategies in an African Context”, will move beyond high-level predictions about growth sectors and instead focus on what strategies are fundamental or unique to build a sustainable business on the continent. This conference will provide key insights into the exceptional local and global companies that are industry leaders. Attendees will learn how investors and entrepreneurs have realised returns and grown companies through:

  • An overview of the top African Equities Markets from experts in investing in Africa

  • Case studies from entrepreneurs who have built billion dollar businesses such as NandosETG and Seplat

  • Panels that delve into subjects such as finance, power, consumer goods, healthcare and entrepreneurship

  • Keynote addresses from business leaders and top investors such as Matt Lilley, CEO of Prudential Africa and Arnold Ekpe, Chairman of Atlas Mara

The event is for those looking to expand current ventures, start a business in Africa or for those who are interested in better understanding the latest trends. Our new format and panels will give a comprehensive overview of the African business landscape as well as the key factors any African investor or entrepreneur should understand. Attendees will leave with a more comprehensive view of the opportunities and challenges associated with investing and doing business in Africa.

The day’s proceedings will culminate in first with a career fair with sponsor organizations then the 2nd annual Gala reception with a seated dinner and live African entertainment. This is a chance to deepen connections in a relaxed setting and carry on the day’s active debates.

The 2015 Africa Business Summit at London Business School promises to be a memorable event, and we look forward to having you join us in London on April 25th.

FinTech Innovation in Sub-Saharan Africa
Hi all - I'm the COO of a Nairobi/London-based fintech company called BitPesa (www.bitpesa.co), which leverages digital currency to provide low-cost, fast and secure remittances and payments to and from mobile money wallets in sub-Saharan Africa. I'm looking forward to meeting anyone interested in the potential of digital currency to power innovation in the continent! Reply
Raising up young African Leaders
I am helping to organise a business conference in Lusaka Aug 6/7 to find a winner for the Zambia Young Entrepreneur of the Year from a national competition. I would welcome advice from others who have been involved in similar things. Laurence Evans
CDC have an African leaders for the future program and had an event there in March when I was there. I am not sure who is lead in CDC but you could try Sameh Shenouda , who was also there. Best regards, Alex
