Rawan is Associate Director of Research and Analysis at The Busines s of Fashion in London. Prior, Rawan conducted a PhD in fashion sustainability at the London College of Fashion and managed an eponymous fashion label. Rawan's PhD research focused on transitioning towards fashion sustainability in the Arab world. As a designer, Rawan has displayed her collections on runways and events in New York, London, Berlin, Beirut, Dubai, and Riyadh. In August 2019, Forbes Middle East recognized Rawan Maki as one of the pioneering female designers behind brands. In September 2021, Rawan displayed her designs in Selfridges London, as part of the Reture collective of designers. Rawan's design aesthetic was dubbed "reminiscent of Balenciaga" by Blanc Magazine, and has been featured in Vogue Arabia, British Vogue, Mojeh, JDEED, and other publications. Prior, Rawan was a strategy consultant for Bain and Company in Dubai and London, where she worked with retail, financial, energy, and GCC government clients. Rawan completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University, where she double majored in Economics and Environmental Engineering. She then obtained a Master of Science from Imperial College London in Environmental Engineering, where she conducted her thesis research on the impacts of land reclamation on water quality in Bahrain.
