Dr Avi is medical doctor by background and currently serves an Associate Partner and Clinical Safety Officer in IBM's global healthcare and life sciences practice. He is also the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Doctorpreneurs, a not-for-profit organisation and one of the world's first and largest communities for medical innovators and entrepreneurs. A recognised industry thought leader and healthcare technology executive, he has considerable experience working at the intersection of clinical, commercial and technology fields to improve health and care. He is a specialist in digital health and the responsible application of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies in healthcare.

A Fellow of the British Computer Society and previously the World Economic Forum's AI Governance Alliance, he is also a Digital Health Advisor to startups, VCs and innovation units, and regular speaker at international healthcare technology conferences and at leading Universities.
