Utsav Mitra is the Managing Director and Head of India Private Equity at Alpha Wave Global (formerly Falcon Edge Capital), a leading multi-strategy investment firm operating across sectors, geographies, and asset classes - including private equity, public equity, and private credit. Alpha Wave Global’s diverse portfolio spans approximately 130 companies worldwide, encompassing technology, consumer, financial services and fintech, real estate, infrastructure, and life sciences.

Before joining Alpha Wave Global, Utsav managed the Asia (ex-China) long/short equity portfolio at Prince Street Capital, a New York–based emerging markets investment firm. He began his investment career at Bain Capital Private Equity in Mumbai, following an early consulting tenure at McKinsey & Company.

Beyond his investing career, Utsav has served in the public sector - working on Mr. Narendra Modi’s 2013–14 Prime Ministerial campaign and subsequently as Officer on Special Duty to Mr. Piyush Goyal, then Minister for Power, Coal, and Renewable Energy in the Government of India

Utsav holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated with Honors in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
