Chiara Cecilia Maiocchi is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Management Science and Operations at London Business School. With a background in mathematics and applied modelling, she specialises in translating complex data and analytical methods into practical business insights.

At LBS, Chiara teaches analytics-focused courses, as well as AI-oriented topics across degree programmes. Her teaching focuses on helping leaders understand how to use data, models, and emerging technologies to make better decisions in uncertain and fast-changing environments.

Before joining LBS, Chiara developed expertise in mathematical modelling and complex systems, with applications in the study of climate models. This continues to inform her approach to business problems, particularly where uncertainty, scale, and dynamic change play a critical role.

She holds a BSc in Pure Mathematics from the University of Milan, an MSc in Applied Mathematics from Heriot-Watt University, and an MRes and PhD in the Mathematics of Planet Earth from Imperial College London and the University of Reading.
