Pelumi Nubi, a travel enthusiast and inspirational content creator, is a figure of empowerment and adventure, renowned for her unique journey exploring the less-trodden paths of the world. With roots in the UK and Nigeria, Pelumi has established a dynamic life between London and Dubai. Her rich experiences across more than 80 countries on six continents have not only shaped her worldview but also her mission to inspire others.
Her early academic and professional journey laid a strong foundation for her later adventures. Initially studying Bio-Medical Science, Pelumi excelled academically, finishing with first-class honours. She then pursued a Ph.D. in cancer research and human genetics, showcasing her deep commitment to impactful scientific inquiry. Despite a promising career in science, Pelumi’s passion for travel and her desire to make a significant cultural impact led her to pivot into becoming a full-time travel content creator.
Pelumi’s content transcends mere travel narratives; it serves as a beacon of encouragement, particularly for Black women, illustrating that solo travel is not only feasible but also safe and rewarding. Her approachable and vivid storytelling on social media platforms encourages her audience to fearlessly embrace life and pursue freedom in its most authentic forms.
A recent, notable accomplishment in Pelumi’s career is her ground-breaking solo drive from London to Lagos. This remarkable journey spanned over 10,000 kilometres and took 74 days, making Pelumi the first Black woman to achieve such a feat.
Following her extraordinary achievement, Pelumi was appointed an Ambassador of Tourism for Lagos State, Nigeria. This role underscores her influence and commitment to reshaping perceptions about travel within Africa and beyond, promoting cultural exchange, and highlighting the beauties and opportunities that the continent has to offer.
