Expert at starting and growing innovative mobile-based services that solve real world problems. Responsible for creating the ground-breaking mobile payment service, M-PESA, leading the team in Vodafone that took this service from an idea to millions of subscribers in multiple markets, starting in Kenya. In 2012, Nick co-founded M-KOPA, an award winning digital company bringing clean energy and financial services to millions of people in East Africa. Most recently, he has co-founded 4R Digital Ltd, a B2B services company to work with clients and partners to incubate new digital business models, products and services.

Nick retains a small number of advisory roles. He is a founding Board member of bKash a mobile payments business in Bangladesh that has scaled quickly. Nick is an Executive Fellow at London Business School, working with the Wheeler Institute for Business & Development on digital innovation.

Nick was awarded an OBE in 2017 for services to 'innovation in Africa' (Queens Birthday Honours List). Also, a winner of the Economist Innovation Award in 2010 for his work on M-PESA.

Nick holds an MBA (with distinction) from London Business School and PhD in Applied Science.
