Philip has followed financial service companies since 1986, firstly at Kitcat and Aitken and, since 1990, at Smith New Court and then Merrill Lynch, where he has specialised in market structure and asset management companies as well as industry trends.  His team has consistently been highly ranked in client surveys such as Institutional Investor and Extel.  Philip is a frequent speaker at conferences on the asset management industry.  Before working in investment banking, Philip worked in the House of Commons in London.  He has a degree in Philosophy and Psychology from Bristol University.
