Robert Toms is a Managing Director at Smedvig Capital, the venture capital fund within the Smedvig group, where he has worked since 2001. He has led 15 direct investments during that period and served as chair at eight of them. Current investments include My Home Move, the UK market leader in home mover conveyancing, Mediamorph, a data and SaaS business providing services to the digital media industry, and Xeneta, the global leader in freight price data services. Smedvig Capital considers investments across all sectors, with SaaS and media tech currently of particular interest for Robert.

Prior to joining Smedvig Robert was a director, with responsibility for strategy and M&A, at Jardine International Motors, and prior to that a manager at strategy consultants Bain & Company. He began his career as an electronic engineer. He has a BSc in Physics and an MBA with distinction from London Business School, and is married with four children.
